“The processing trial with Colombian Mint delivered a strong payable gold return from our high-grade ore, and represents a potential pathway to generate near-term cash flow while our team maintains focus on underground development and dilution control.“

-Timothy Hosking, Managing Director and CEO of Aguia Resources

Aguia Resources (ASX: AGR), an Australian mining company with gold operations in the department of Bolívar, Colombia, recorded its best month of production in the history of the Santa Bárbara project in August 2026: 942 grams of gold at a grade of more than 10 grams per ton (g/t), more than double its previous best result.

To achieve this, Aguia entrusted 50% of its ore to a processing trial with Colombian Mint's Quintana Plant, located in Remedios, Antioquia. The test processed 50 tonnes of high-grade ore, reaching a head grade of 15.05 g/t and returning 637.4 grams of payable gold, valued at A$123,200, plus 1,226.8 grams of silver.

Under the agreement, Aguia receives 90% of the recovered gold, after a processing charge of US$65 per tonne. The parcel was delivered in the first week of September, and the results confirmed the viability of the model as a source of near-term cash flow for the Australian miner.

Aguia's total revenue in August reached A$171,000, combining own production and ore processed by Colombian Mint. The company also reported a drastic cost reduction during 2026: capex cut by 80%, opex by 56%, and overhead by 38%.

With these results, Aguia plans to scale up production to 200 tonnes per month over the next 90 days, and resume exploration in Colombia in the fourth quarter of 2026. Colombian Mint will remain part of the processing strategy while the miner optimizes its own plant.

The coverage was published on September 16, 2026, in The Sydney Morning Herald, one of Australia's leading financial publications, which identified Colombian Mint as part of the Sun Valley Investments group.
